Copper Grade Selection and Processing Specifications

CNC machining covers a full range of standard copper and copper alloy grades for precision component production. C11000 ETP copper and oxygen-free C101 copper stand out for ultra-high electrical and thermal conductivity; despite their gummy texture that tends to cause built-up edge and stringy chips during cutting, they are widely machined into busbars, heat sinks, EDM electrodes, RF waveguide housings and vacuum conductive terminals. Free-cutting brass C36000 delivers excellent machinability with broken short chips, ideal for high-volume turning and milling of electrical connectors, valve bodies, threaded fasteners and instrument fittings. Beryllium copper and tin bronze alloys feature superior hardness and wear resistance, suitable for spring contacts, wear bushings and heavy-load bearing parts. Equipped with 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling & turning centers, manufacturers adopt specialized cutting tools and optimized coolant strategies to suppress deformation and burrs, holding tight tolerances down to ±0.002 mm for custom copper components applied in new energy, telecommunications, hydraulic & oilfield, and precision mold industries.
